Ukrainian customs for weddings

A Ukrainian marriage is a breathtakingly wonderful festival that is jam-packed with dance and music. It can last many days with several songs, celebrations, and various rites. It is typically held on a Saturday ( though quite religious ceremonies can be performed on Sunday ).

Just before the chapel ceremony starts, one of the most significant ceremonies takes place. The bride and groom meet their separate individuals at the residence of the bride's families during this event, known as the Blahoslovenya. These, the parents of the bride and groom formally review of their kids getting married. On their special time, the man also gets to meet the bride here for the first moment!

The spouses are given a rushnyk (embroidered blanket) to step on after meeting their relatives. In their relationship, it is thought that whoever steps on it first will be the head of the household. Before taking their pledges, the pair steps on this blanket that they brought with them to religion.

Another custom that takes place during the chapel service is where several godparent couples thank the pair. It's really a sight to see that there are frequently 10 or more godparent lovers per pair! These are also the same individuals who did look out for them and wish them the best in their union. The pair eventually makes their way down the aisle hand in hand and accepts their crowns from the pastor, demonstrating that they are a real group!
